Direct Procurement Method (DPM)
The Direct Procurement Method (DPM) Program manages the transportation and storage of domestic household goods, international-household goods, and unaccompanied baggage shipments using Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)-based government contracts. Upon request of Personal Property Shipping Offices (PPSOs), DPM contracts are solicited and awarded by installation Contracting Offices. DPM contracts provide for the packing, containerization, local drayage, delivery, unpacking, storage and related services of Service members’ and DoD employees’ personal property. DPM affords PPSOs a comprehensive process for worldwide movement of small and large shipments to specific overseas locations where other modes of shipment may not be feasible.
