3D Modeling

3D Modeling

The 3D Model Database is part of SDDCTEA's Transportability Branch. Engineers use Computer-Aided Design and Engineering (CAD/CAE) software to model transport configurations of military equipment. The engineers can quickly and accurately determine cargo-transporter incompatibilities and physical restrictions and provide design guidance and alternatives. Advanced visualization and video capabilities provide an informative means of illustrating results, such as transport procedures and interference issues. A 3-D Model Database is available containing many of the equipment models used for analyses.

3D Model Database (Restricted Access - Common Access Card Required to View)

Transportability Engineering's 3D Model Database contains detailed models of military and commercial equipment used for Transportability/Deployability simulations and analyses.

The Download files have an extension of .prt or .igs. The .prt file is a Pro/Engineer CAD part file of the model. The .igs file is an IGES (Initial Graphic Exchange Specification) file for importation into other CAD packages.

Please contact the Transportability Branch at usarmy.scott.sddc.mbx.tea-dpe@mail.mil. if you have questions or difficulties accessing a file.
