Wheel stops are often used along the site boundaries of uncurbed paved lots, where large landscaped areas extend beyond the edge of pavement. Wheel stops in the interior of a parking lot have a few disadvantages such as they are a hinderance to people walking between cars, are often a potential hazard when hidden from view by parked cars, and tend to trap blowing debris.
