ECF Functions

ECFs can have many functions. Functions for each ECF are based on the installation's mission, Antiterrorism (AT) Plan, ECF-use classification, and land area. Functions may change to meet the demands of higher FPCON levels. Basic functions of an ECF include: 1. processing visitors; 2. vehicle ID checks; 3. personnel ID checks; 4. privately owned vehicle (POV) inspections; 5. and truck inspections.
