Additional Design Features

There are many additional items that are critical to the design and operation of an ECF. Their layout and operation depends on various functions, as described in the UFC and SDDCTEA's Pamphlet 55-15. These include geometric design, vertical clearance, the gatehouse, ID check area, inspection areas, ECF signing, lighting, speed control, vehicle barriers, and SMART planning. These are discussed in the following pages.
